This is the most valuable home ever offered in the lottery. Once again Trevor, Curtis and Heather from Atmosphere Interior Designs did an amazing job creating a space that is luxurious, contemporary and yet very livable. The main floor living room with it's great fireplace and huge ceiling high east facing windows is truly breathtaking. My favorite room is the little den with the four chairs and the fireplace. Perfect for having a few glasses of wine with friends.
Rocy Homes built this show home and their commitment to quality craftsmanship and innovation shows. The lights come on and off as you enter rooms, there is an art panel for the TV in the walkout basement, a linked sound system in every room and so many other features you just have to go see it for yourself.
We always enjoy spending the day in the home, working with Curtis and Trevor and experiencing high end living (even if it is just for a few hours)!

Secret Sessions!

Well Ladies, it is that time of year to think about how special your man is (or really how special you are!). What about surprising him with a little secret session? Bring your sexy, fun, casual or naked self in for some special attention. Whether you have done it in the past or if it is your first Boudoir shoot our goal is to make it all about you. Perhaps you have been working on your body and want to celebrate where you are or you just want to celebrate who you are right now. I know lots of you will feel a little nervous but it is a really fun session that you quickly get comfortable with and we have a great time.

Until the end of February the sitting fee is just $98.00!

Regular price is $195.00
This includes up to a 2 hour session and unlimited outfit changes and poses.
You will get a private viewing session when your photos are ready and a contact sheet for reference.
Then there are lots of options for creating that special gift. Photo books are the biggest trend, but you can choose a framed enlargement, folio, or DVD of everything. Books start at only $95.00!

We will photograph were the moment takes us and if you are extra shy it will be only Elaine that photographs the session.

September Wedding - Saskatoon Wedding Photographers

Phil has know this groom for about 8 years and kinda watched him grow into the man he is today. Spending time with the two of them, you just know they are a perfect match. Speaking of perfect, they looked the part. They are magazine ready with details like the bird cage veil, the parasol, her purple sneakers for the reception and the vintage car. In fact, at one point during their shoot, a passerby asked if it was a real wedding or just an advertising session. The bride made so many big and small details just perfect. I love the "here comes the bride banner" that the ring bearer carried! I think that if she ever wants to leave her chosen profession, she could easily become a wedding planner. The other amazing thing I wanted to mention about these two, is how romantic the groom is. Get ready guys, the bar has just been raised. This past year we have had some very unique and special proposals, but this groom beats it all. A hidden ring while traveling around Europe....Venice....a gondola......enough said. She was completely surprised!!! And when you see the ring shot, this is no small ring to keep hidden for a couple weeks. We love fall weddings and this was a great day to be a part of. Congrats A & T and keep the romance going!

Now I usually don't start with the bridal party photos. But these groups shots really deserve to be at the top. The group really got into the vibe and it was super fun. What a great set of friends to bring all this equipment out to the park for the shoot. And the blue guitar is just the statement piece the bride should have. Something borrowed and blue. We ended the day down at the sandbar. Another spectacular day and some local beach goers even let us borrow their yellow bikes for a few pics.

August Wedding - Saskatoon Wedding Photographers

K&D give off a vibe of quiet oneness. It is really profound and their strong connection was obvious to everyone as their friends and families celebrated the day with them. The bride has such a genuine sweetness with supermodel looks. The groom proves that chivalry is indeed not dead. He's the perfect mix of guy's guy and a doting husband.
Summer can be very unpredictable and this day was no exception. It was pouring rain as the bride was getting ready. However, just to make K&D's day perfect, nature smiled on us and cleared the skies for a fabulous afternoon of shooting.

We have been out to Watrous and Manitou Beach several times over the last 15 years. I am always amazed at how beautiful Camp Easter Seal is. The classic field stone structures are perfect for framing wedding couples.

This series is from a very special spot. The groom drove us on a dirt trail through a field to show us the tiny lake and great view where he asked the bride to be his. They had spent the day on the quad and then he surprised her with the perfect proposal! She said YES!

These black and whites down by the lake are my favorite of the summer this year. Phil really captured the mood with the pics here.

Congrats to the two of you. We had so much fun with you, the bridal party, the photo booth and the candy bar.....and due to the sugar high laughed all the way back to Saskatoon!

B&K are just perfection. We had such a great day and they were one of the first weddings we did a photo booth for. He is a military guy and is so charming and debonair! She is sweet, funny and very beautiful. They were a pleasure to photograph and get to know.

Summer Photo Sessions - Saskatoon Photographers

I was looking over my blog posts and realized it was very wedding focused. That is because in the summer we are super busy with brides and wedding locations and shooting! In fact, there are several wedding posts to come.
But we are also doing a variety of other sessions. I pulled a few to highlight what else we have been up to. Some are urban family portraits, some are fun engagement pics and some classic Saskatchewan locations in the summer. Fall in upon us and we have lots of sessions coming up. I'll post more of those later. Still time to get a session time for fabulous fall photos.

Rock the Frock - Saskatoon Wedding Photographers

So after Brent & Nicole's wedding, we decided to head off to Christopher Lake to do a "Trash the Dress" session. It was amazing. In a word Nicole is confident. She is the epitome of the fearless bride. She knows what she wants and has the perfect spontaneous attitude to pull it off. It takes just the right kinda guy to keep up with all that energy. So thanks to Brent for putting on all black threads in the 30 degree heat and jumping in the lake with us. Check out their scene stealing pooch. She was so funny and splashed them any chance she got! I think the dress might be trashed, but I know they really rocked these frocks.

Nicole & Brent - Saskatoon Wedding Photographers

We have been photographing this bride since she was about 10 years old. Nicole and her sister are great subjects and both of them love the camera. Nicole's sister got married about five years ago (which was also a crazy fun wedding) and that is where she met Brent. I guess there is something to the bridal party hook ups! If you know Nicole, then you know that Brent didn't stand a chance against falling in love with her. Their wedding was a celebration of family, friends, fun, laughter and love. Did I mention laughter? They are both so hilarious and so was the bridal party. Such a great day and we loved being a part of it!

June Wedding - Saskatoon Wedding Photographers

We first met J & B a few years back when we did family pics at his parents antique store. It was a fun and unique family sitting which even included some night shots in front of the Broadway bridge. When they asked us to do their wedding photos we were thrilled. It is always great to work with a couple and at least one of their families that you all ready have a rapport with.

Their wedding day was perfect. Not to hot, and beautiful Saskatchewan skies. Which worked out great since they had planned an outdoor ceremony at the Forestry Farm venue. No need to worry, the rain never came and we only had to battle those pesky mosquitoes. It was so worth it! Check out the huge clouds and the super saturated greens of summer in full bloom.

They are a great couple and we had a blast working with them. Their ideas and openness to ours was really a perfect match for us.

Spiritwood Wedding

We love to get out of the city and explore a new location, especially if it is for a wedding. There is always a special feeling about "home" and "place" when we shoot an out of town wedding. The atmosphere is different in a small town where everyone knows everybody else! This day was no exception and you could feel the sense of friendship and community celebration for the two.

Also we get the chance to capture some new backgrounds and places we have never photographed before. The bride grew up on this farm just outside of town and provided a great natural and untouched space for the formals. The couple brought out the quad for a few fun pics.

The weather tried to get the better of us, thankfully the rain held off until after the photos were all wrapped up. But it did get a little cold for a summer wedding. Thanks to the bride and groom who hung in there even once the strong winds began. Since we needed shelter, we used the museum porch and it turned out to be a great location!

Spiritwood is a beautiful northern town and we wanted to show a little glimpse of their day.

Broadway Theatre Wedding

It's a chilly Saturday in February just after Valentine's day and love is still in the air. The landmark Broadway Theatre held host to a unique winter wedding. Snowflakes decorated the stage and the bridesmaids wore icy blue, but the happiness everyone shared with the newlyweds warmed up the entire day.

The couple braved the Saskatchewan weather and took some wintery portraits outside. This is a special spot for the two of them as this is where the groom got down on bended knee and popped the question!

Then we stopped in next door at Calories for a few quiet moments before they continued on with the celebrations at the reception.

Extras or necessity?

Engagement photos are a time to show and celebrate your future nuptials to the world.

Here you can express to us what your thoughts or visions are, or you can wing it and let us decide how the session evolves!

For both the subjects and the photographer(s) it is an excellent time to get comfortable with each other before spending 4 to 12 hours together on the wedding day. Think of it as a “break the ice” session in a much more casual atmosphere!

We encourage these sessions to learn what your likes or dislikes are. How do you look posed a certain way? Is there excessive blinking? Do you really have a better side? Are you okay with my bad jokes?

These are some of the things we learn from an engagement session and in post processing we learn even more. Do you look good in black & white or colour? What kind of lighting brings out your best features?

Whether the sessions are included in your package or a la carte, we strongly recommend you take advantage of the opportunity to have engagement photos! The rapport you develop with your photographer(s) will translate into stunning photos created on your special day!

A New Year....Our New Blog!

Celebrating the new year is always something I look forward to. Focusing on what lies ahead makes life less about the rear view mirror and more about all that there is to still discover.

The start of a new year and the start of a new life. Our first post is going to celebrate Family. Introducing "Baby D"! My brother and his wife brought this little man into our lives just before Christmas. He has started out as an excellent photo subject - before he was even born!

And then only a few weeks old..... his first photo session.
